BACHELOR OF ARCHITECTURE (B.ARCH)


B.Arch is a particular branch of study that deals with the planning and designing of different sorts of buildings and their structures. It is a competitive field that consists of various types of works. Architecture as a profession is the role of those persons or machines giving architectural services. 


ELIGIBILITY FOR B.ARCH


Candidate must possess 50% marks in aggregate at 10+2 level or equivalent with Mathematics as one of the subjects.

Architectural Design, Architectural Drawing, Building Construction, Computer & Software Lab, Theory of Structures, Workshop Practice, Building Science & Service, Architectural Appreciation, Building management, Theory of settlement planning, Theory of architecture, Design Application

  1. Candidates should have cerebral capabilities, simulate sensitivity, unveil innovative talents and foster dexterity in professional skills to empower them to pursue various specializations within the broad spectrum of architecture.
  2. The aspirants are supposed to be geared with proper skills, understanding & knowledge.
  3. Applicants who are targeting at a high degree of excellence in architectural design, seeing it as a core of the program with supportive inputs of the courses in the stream.

TASKS OF ARCHITECTS

The architect must work according to the requirements of their clients. They take over the responsibility of planning, designing and construction supervision of buildings. The different types of buildings include houses, landscapes, office buildings, etc. The architect must be an integration of artist, professional and businessman. If they are talented, experienced and hard working they can definitely target high positions in their career.


CAREER OPPORTUNITIES AFTER B.ARCH


At present the career opportunities for these graduates in architect are immense due to the boom in the infrastructure sector. These graduates can work as independent professionals or can take up jobs in Government or private sectors. For pleasant career teaching can also be good choice. Anyone who had successfully completed B.Arch can register with COA i.e. Council of Architecture. This can be done through agencies like CPWD. UPSC conducts examinations for these registered candidates to recruit them in various departments. Opportunities are available in private construction firms like L&T, DLF, Sahara, etc.


REMUNERATION


Due to the demand for them in the construction and designing fields, the pay packages for these professionals are increasing. The remuneration given for the skilled professionals in private sector is higher compared to others. The fresher can earn from Rs.1 lac to Rs.1.5 lacs per annum whereas an experienced professional can earn up to Rs.2 lacs to Rs. 5 lacs per annum.
