B.TECH IN AGRICULTURAL ENGINEERING


In the Indian economy, agriculture is a paramount sector acquiring a dominant place that contributes around 23% to the GDP where more than 70% of the total work force is employed in this sector.






AGRICULTURAL ENGINEERING


It’s a branch of engineering that applies engineering science disciplines and technology practices for the adequate production and processing of food, seed, fiber and fuels. This course is made after merging the principles of plant biology, animal biology, mechanical, civil, electrical and chemical engineering.


ELIGIBILITY


For a candidate aspiring to do a B.Tech in Agricultural Engineering, the elementary eligibility criterion is 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and preferably Biology.


TASK OF AGRICULTURAL ENGINEER


The task of an agricultural engineer is to ameliorate the agricultural production by utilizing the better engineering methods, inventions, technology and equipment that also needs a good medium and crave to make a difference to the future of farming. Improvement in farm structures, agricultural farm machinery, bio-gas, rural electrification, new technologies in the design and manufacture of agricultural products and also conservation and maintenance of soil and water are few of the jobs managed by an agricultural engineer.

He can get placement offers in different public sector undertakings and live agricultural projects in India. Apart from it the person can also get placed in different private firms dealing with agricultural production and processing. They can work as Agricultural scientists once they are subjected to research programs in Agriculture. A fresh Agriculture Engineer can initially start working in Government organizations such as:

OVERSEAS RECRUITMENT

The aspirants can employ there as Agricultural Inspectors, Horticultural Consultant, Dairy Manager and Farm Manager or else as Agricultural Engineer. Abroad they are offered good salary packages.


REMUNERATION


After the completion of the course one can choose to open his own farm and can have a good income depending upon the crops grown and size of the farm. Those who want tp work with NGOs can earn good amount as well.
Whereas in government institutions, the basic pay scale for agricultural engineer is Rs 10K to Rs 20K and in private sector the engineers may get salary ranging from Rs 20K to Rs 35K.
