BSc IN RADIOGRAPHY

Radiography occupies a unique place in the field of medicine. It’s a 3 year graduate course that deals with the study of a secondary field of medicine, where the degree holders in the same field are made capable to use radio graphical techniques and prepares the aspirants to professionally take radio images of different body parts of the patients.




ELIGIBILITY & COURSE’S ASPECTS The minimum eligibility for this course is 10+2 with PCM. Few of the very reputed institutes and colleges conduct entrance examination also to get admission to their B.Sc. in Radiography degree course. This course enables the students to acquire distinct competence to diagnose different diseases and disorders of several internal organs. Radiography has its own distinct aspects in various fields. COURSE CURRICULUM The syllabus of the graduate degree in Radiography consists Introduction to Radiography, Anatomy, Pathology, Physiology, Biochemistry, Computed Tomography, Microbiology, Radio diagnosis, Imaging Techniques, Radiation Physics & Medical Physics, Biostatistics and much more. The aspirants after the completion of this program are trained to use various techniques like X-ray, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Positron Emission Tomography (PET), Sonography, Ultrasound scan, Fluoroscopy, Computed Tomography, widely known as CT scan. B.SC. RADIOGRAPHY COURSE SUITABILITY

  2. They should morally boost the confidence in patients, a strong willpower and tolerance.
  3. A strong scientific and technical bent of mind, the ability to learn new skills and adapt to the changes and a spirit for teamwork should be there in the aspirant.
  4. Aspirants should also possess skills like attention to detail and should be prompt to make quick and independent decisions.
WHERE THE COURSE WILL TAKE YOU? After the completion of this course, several jobs might be waiting for you in many fields as in mental health centers, medical clinics, hospitals, health care centers, radiotherapy research organizations & so on and you might work there as a Technician, technologist, diagnostic radiographer, researcher, radiation therapy educator. RADIOGRAPHY PAY PACKAGE In government or private hospitals one can pursue his/her career as radiographers. Candidates can join Steel Authority of India (SAIL), South Eastern Coal Fields Limited (SECL), Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) as X-ray Technicians and earn a salary between 1 Lac-3 Lacs package. Government hospitals offer a remuneration of 8K to 12K per month but the remuneration can go up to Rs. 30000-40000 per month after two to three years of practice. However, a radiographer can earn up to 20 K in the initial stage in a high profile private hospital.
